A washi maker Daisho in Ichikawa Daimon Yamanashi Prefecture, a thousand years historic washi production area has created the SIWA | Paper Wa series of everyday products that expand the possibilities of paper with industrial designer.
Mr. Fukasawa has found that it has a texture by being squished, to the unbreakable shoji paper "Naoron", which was developed by Daicho to create a design for everyday products that utilize its kindness.
The name "SIWA | Paper Japanese" means paper wrinkles and the paper Japanese paper read of the reverse Japanese paper.We carefully purify washi paper and carefully produce each piece in such a way that the leather is sewn on.
Material Features
All products are made of proprietary Naoron material.Although it has a unique texture of paper, it is tear resistant and water resistant.
SIWA products are made of 2 different naoron materials depending on the product.
Soft naoron.
Soft Naoron is a paper developed by our company using wood pulp and polyolefin fiber and using a washi infuser method.Features a soft, supple paper material that is resistant to tearing, and has excellent water resistance.
Hardnaoron.
Hard Naoron is a paper made using a Washi Infuser method using recycled polyester fiber from used plastic bottles.Although it has a unique texture of paper, it is tear resistant and water resistant.
