ブランド紹介

1970年代、ユタ州バーナルでMERRELLの創始者ランディ·メレルがオーダーメイドブーツの製作を始めました。幼い頃からアウトドアに親しんだ彼のブーツは全米で評判になり、1981年には「バックパッカー·マガジン」誌上で「北米で最も機能的で快適な靴」に選ばれたのです。この記事を目に留めた2人のアウトドアフリークがランディ·メレルを誘い、ブーツのための新会社MERRELLを設立。生産工程を改良し、「長時間履いても足が疲れない」という魅力をそのままに、次々とアウトドアシューズを展開しました。1998年には大人気の定番モデルとなる「ジャングルモック」を発表。これをきっかけにMERRELLはアウトドアスポーツの枠を超えて、山や街、全ての屋外へとフィールドを広げていきました。さらに2001年には「カメレオン」シリーズが発売され、5年後には世界累計1000万足を突破。その後も、トレッキングや野外フェスまで幅広いユーザーに愛される多様なラインを展開し、現在世界135カ国で販売され、その数は年間1600万足を超えています。
