Description:
The lathing center is a tool grounded in the point to accurately position the workpiece on the axis. It has a 60° angle. The main application at the center is to create a work of concentration. This allows the workpiece to be transferred between machining tasks without loss of accuracy. Parts can be rotated with a lathe, sent for hardening and tempering, and then ground between the center of a cylindrical grinder. The center is also used to support longer workings where the cutting force is overpowered, reducing the finish and accuracy of the work piece.
