This is a superhero armored suit rather than riding gear, so you can face up with anything.
Selvedge refers to the ears on both ends of the fabric, and is tightly woven (reinforced) to prevent the threads from fraying.
In order to apply selvage to a thick denim, a special looming is required and the skill is required.
For that reason, Selvidge Denim has a reputation for durability and quality.
