Overview:
Operating principle of multi-vibrator is as follows: Due to differences between components, the Q1 or Q2 is turned on first after startup. When Q1 is turned on first, the voltage of the Q1 collector will be 0V and the LED of Group A will light up. The voltage on both ends of the capacity does not change rapidly, so the 0V Q1 collector reduces the base potential of the Q2 to 0V through C1 and turn the Q2 off. At this time, group B LEDs will turn off. When the C1 charging voltage rises to Q2 breakover voltage, Q2 is turned on. Also, the voltage of the Q2 collector decreases to 0V, and the LED in group B starts to light up. Similarly, the 0V Q2 collector lowers the base potential of the Q1 to 0V through the C2 and turn the Q1 off. At this time, the LED of Group A will turn off. The multi-vibrator operates following this cycle and turns these two groups of LEDs on alternately.
Wobble frequencies of these two LED groups are dependent on C1 C2 R21 and R22 specifications.
