Specifications:
- MAX7219 is a serial input/output common cathode display driver that connects a microprocessor to an 8-bit digital 7-segment digital LED display. Can also be connected to a bar graph display or 64 LEDs. Includes on-chip B-type BCD encoder, multi-scan circuit, segment word driver, and 8*8 static RAM to store each data. Only one external register can be used to set the segment current of each LED.
- Allows you to connect a convenient 4-wire serial interface to a universal microprocessor You can address each data without updating all displays during updates. The MAX7219 also allows the user to choose whether to encode each data.
- The entire device includes 150μA low power shutdown mode, analog and digital brightness control, scan limit register that displays 1-8-bit data, and detection mode that all LEDs emit.
- Only three IO ports are required to drive the dot matrix! Dot matrix displays are no flickering! Support Cascade!
Wiring Method:
- Input port on left side of module and output port on right side
- If you want to control one module, just connect the input port to the CPU
- If multiple modules are cascaded, the input of the first module is connected to the CPU, the output is connected to the input of the second module, the output of the second module is connected to the input of the third module, and the following is the same.
- Take 51 Microcontroller for example:
- VCC → 5V
- G ND to G ND
- DIN → P2.0
- CS → P2.1
- C to P2.2
