PROCEDURE
1. Put viscosity cup in a horizontal position
Close orifice, pour in test liquid 2.
3. Draw clean glass plate over the rim of the cup, thus removing superfluous liquid into overflow reservoir and closing the cup
4. Open orifice, remove glass plate horizontally and start stop watch
5. Stop the watch with first break in the efflux steam
Repeat measurement three times each with a new sample of the same material 6.
CONVERTING TO VISCOSITY
The measured kinematic viscosity is expressed generally in seconds ( s ) flow time, which can be converted to Centistokes ( cSt ).
To convert from flow time (s) to kinematic viscosity ( cSt ), use the following formula:
V = K*t-? C/t?
V = kinematic viscosity in cSt ( mm2/s)
t = flow time in seconds
K and C are constants given in the product picture
Storage
After the test, clean the cup with suitable solvent only.
Do not use wire brushes or other metallic tools for cleaning.
After cleaning, ensure that all materials are removed.
Always store the cup in its case when it is not being used.
