Flanged Ball Bearing Types and Features
Flanged ball bearings are not actually another type of bearing. Ball bearings are available in flanged or plain as they are offered in sealed or open versions
Flanges are only one of the options that bearing manufacturers offer to the design engineer.
The flange is an extension or lip on the outer wheel of the bearing, designed to assist in installing and positioning the bearings in delicate or problematic applications.

These bearings have a flange for easy axial positioning The inner bore protrudes to prevent wear from contact with the wheel.
Application:
These bearings are designed for wheels in a special size garden cart This is a non-standard model.
We recommend replacing the bearing if the bearing on the cart is damaged or unusual sound. You can also stock the bearings for future needs, and one wheel requires two bearings.
