In 1906, Walter A. Shaefer collaborated with her father in Fort Madison, Iowa to notify precious metal work such as jewelry and silver jewelry. The following year invented a lever filled fountain pen in 1907 and patented in 1908. We started manufacturing fountain pens based on this patent. In 1920, we launched a Lifetime Pen with a Lifetime Warranty against structural failure. After that, we introduced new mechanisms, such as a touchdown type that uses air pressure to inhalate ink, and when rotated the back end of the barrel the pen exposes a thin metal tube to inhalate the ink.
