It is one of Chinese folk wind instruments, also known as a buppa, small charmera is also said to be a sea whistle. Chinas Charmera, has evolved from Solna, the Arab double reed musical instrument in Persia. It is also used for accompaniment of traditional theater, singing and dancing. In civilians, most of the Taidrum musical instruments and percussion instruments are said to be without the Charmera.
Chalmera consists of a nompose, a carava, a core, a tube and a flap mouth. Many tubes are made from Konotega crease wood (some cast metal such as bamboo, tin, iron, and copper) and have 8 sound holes on top of the tube, and in the case of small charumera, there are 7 soundholes on the conical tubes. The top end of the wooden tube is made of copper tubing and the top end of the copper tube is attached to the reed stem and the bottom end of the wooden tube has a copper buffer. The voice is high and bright, and has excellent control of breath, and the folk league can also produce a soft and beautiful sound (long whistle blows from the top like a shaeh).
The improved Charmera has three different types: treble, midrange, and bass, and some with a keyboard and a wider range of sound. Charmera is mainly used in the storms musical instrument (in the province of Shandong, Kawbei, Mounwest, Henan, Anthong, Jilin and Liaoning) and as a blending percussion instrument (in the province of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Guangdong), but it is widely used in small ethnic regions such as Wigle, Tibet, Mong, Ye and Lee.
