In 1884, Karl Elzner founded a cutlery workshop in Ebach, Schwitz. Switzerland was still one of the poor countries in Europe. Many Switzerland were unworked and there was no way other than leaving the country. Carl Elzner was trying to create jobs and stop them. For the first time in 1891, Karl Elznor delivered the Soldier Knife to the Swiss Army. In 1897, we set out to develop the multi-tool "Original Officer and Sport Knife" office knife that is the symbol of todays brand, and built the foundation of a recognized growth company worldwide. Since then, the spirit of Elzners union and a commitment to solid value rooted in the region has formed the Victorinox corporate philosophy.
