「エース」は、日本の老舗バッグメーカー、エース株式会社から誕生したブランドです。
「すべての移動を旅と捉え、その旅を快適にするための最適なカタチを提供する。」をコンセプトに、トラベルからカジュアル、ビジネスまでの幅広いアイテムを扱っています。

「エース」の起源は1940年に創業者新川柳作が大阪·天王寺にカバン店「新川柳商店」を開店したことに始まります。
1953年、新川は新しい素材「東レナイロン」を生地に使用したバッグを日本で初めて開発。
カラフルで軽く、強度があり、汚れが簡単に落ちるというそのバッグは人気を博し、「バッグの一大革命」とまで言われました。
この革新的なスピリットが、「エース」の「世界に負けない日本製のラゲッジを作る」という夢につながっていきます。

1958年に、新川は市場拡大と業界視察のために世界一周旅行に旅立ちます。
アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、中近東、東南アジア、香港をめぐる3ヶ月の旅。ここでアメリカのラゲッジメーカー「サムソナイト社」に出会った新川は、スーツケースの輸入販売を開始します。
そして4年後には、初めての日本製スーツケース「デボネア」の生産を開始しました。

1963年、「エース」株式会社に社名変更。
1971年には北海道の赤平市にスーツケースの生産を担う工場ができ、増産体制が整います。
そして海外旅行者が年々増加する中、日本人のニーズに合った機能性を備えた日本製のスーツケース「シルエット」を販売。
以後、「エース」のスーツケースは独自の進化を遂げ、世界で最も先進的なスーツケースと言われるようになります。

また、2000年から行なっていたスーツケースのリサイクルを恒常的なプロジェクトとしてスタート。
不要になったスーツケースの大多数が粗大ごみとして廃棄処分されていることを受け、リサイクルの仕組みを独自に構築し、環境負荷の削減に取り組んでいます。

現在、「エース」は、創業以来培ってきた鞄づくりの経験とノウハウを活かしながら、日本ブランドならではの美意識や心づかいを感じさせる、使いやすく高品質なモノ づくりをしています。
