Why static discharge compatible?
The damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD) is not the only part of a device failure. It will impact the stridges of production, production costs, product quality and reliability, relationships with customers and ultimately profitability.
Unitech static discharge scanners are specially designed to meet strict requirements requiring electrostatic discharge applications such as clean rooms, gas stations, mines, semiconductor factories and more.
There are two ways to make the plastic surface conductive for static discharge scanners.
■ External coating: Apply antistatic agent on the surface of the product with spray or dipping.
■ Internal mixing: An antistatic agent is added to the material so that the material is evenly distributed across the polymer.
The internal mixing process provides electrostatic discharge protection for longer periods of time than the external painting method.
Unitech MS851B ESD Scanners are manufactured with an internal mix of antistatic agents, including the cables used for electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.
All scanners, cradle housing and USB cables are tested and approved by Taiwan Plastic Industrial Development Centers.
