The unique manufacturing process of pastel Schmincke is created using traditional manufacturing techniques that results in a distinctive strong color application.In this traditional and time-consuming process, first use a screw press to form the pre-kneaded fabric into round strands.Next, remove the round strands by hand and cut them to exact dimensions in a wire-tied frame.Sticks are still damp and allow them to air dry for 8 days before they can be applied by hand. Due to the very fine ingredients, our pastels are impossible to machine make.The sticks produced in this way are very delicate and can easily break apart.It is also very important to ensure consistency of quality and softness throughout every production cycle.Artists want colors to always be the same quality.
