This lens filter has a 1/4 equivalent soft effect of the "Black Mist" #1 to create an impressive ambiance in night or backlight shooting. Due to the slightly weak soft effect, you can use it on your lens like a protective filter. Multi-coated to prevent flare and ghosting, water-repellent and oleophobic coating that repels water drops and stains, has been improved as a lens protective filter. Kenkos signature soft filter, "Black Mist" is a filter with a very fine black diffuser sandwiched with optical glass. The contrast between the highlights and shadows is suppressed, and the light is impressed by diffusing the night scene, giving you an exquisite nuance that is reminiscent of a movie scene. The appeal of black mist is that you can get cinematic texture in the spot without retouching. The Black Mist Protector has a soft effect equivalent to 1/4 of the Black Mist No.1 and 1/2 of the Black Mist. By weakening the soft effect, it can be used without constant wear, and it can be slightly effective in backlight or strong light source. Also recommended for video recording.
