[Features] Sanada cord is a unique shape of a string that is flat and narrow woven with a weak and weft weave.
In kanji lettering, it may also write "thanada string".
Originally a single weave and many hollowed sacks.
The material is often made of cotton and pure silk. Since the Middle Ages, it is primarily used as a string of paulownia boxes for tea tools. It is used for swords, strings when wearing armor, luggage straps, etc.
In recent years, Sanada Twine has expanded a wide range of uses including bracelets, furniture, and interior decorations. A new form that combines traditional and modern with has gained attention from overseas.
Sanada Twine is woven flat with compression over 4 times more thread than regular fabrics and is hard to stretch and durable, which is often used for hanging heavy objects and securing objects.
Some patterns like family crests have designated patterns for home and individuals and are used for individual and group certifications, and certifying the authenticity of the artwork. It is primarily developed for tea tools, and there are designated patterns and colors depending on the school. Also commonly used for stage tools, props, festivals, etc. Sanada Twine is said to be the thinnest weave in the world.
