The traditional Kyushu links are made of wooden core that has been popular for outdoor play and are made of wood. The sharp iron core has been turned into a round wood core, making it safer to play. The sides of the shaft are not slick, but also leave uneven bumps to make the string easy to catch. It also has a non-slip coating, so the string does not slip easily, making it easy to wrap around. Originally made especially for childcare schools in Kyushu, this is the popular item year after year. Recommended as an introductory to the traditional Kyushu pieces.
