Function:
The AD831 provides a 3-dimensional intermodulation intercept point with +24 dBm which produces -10 dBm LO power without the need for a high power LO drive. Therefore, compared to passive mixers to improve system performance, there is no corresponding shield and separation issues to reduce system costs. The mixer is designed as a single power, RF, IF and LO port with an easy-to-use DC insulated capacitor. RF and LO input operating frequencies up to 500MHz. IF output is a single end voltage output. 250 MHz output bandwidth Set gain using a single resistance connected between the OUT and FB This amplifier has a low DC offset characteristics, so it can be used for DC baseband frequency conversion and orthoscillation modulation. For mixer output amplifier and optimal source impedance, the mixer SSB noise index is 10.3dB at 70MHz. Unlike passive mixers, there is no insertion loss and no external duplex devices or AD831 passive termination.
