Meraki Go GX20/50 requires a smartphone or tablet device to utilize the Meraki Go management app, internet line agreement, ONU (line termination device) or modem/router provided by service provider. [How do I connect (configure) a Meraki Go router firewall? ]
Meraki Go GX20/50 is typically connected to the LAN side port on a modem or router that terminates the line mesh. Meraki Go GX20/50 only supports IPv4 IPv4 is still available even under modems/routers that terminate IPv6. It can be connected directly to ONU and PPPoE connection, but can it be used as termination device directly with the "ONU" or the "ONU" or other similar questions? Please see "".
What is the difference between the Meraki Go router firewall and the "General Modem/Router"? ]
Common modems/routers have implemented features to convert the net line from the station to an indoor signal and allow multiple devices to utilize the net. Meraki Go GX20/50 is standard with state full firewall functionality. When a GX20/50 device accesses the Internet, it knows and matches communications that come back from the internet to review and allow for security and pass down to your device. Firewall functions prevent external "unauthorized access" and "malicious communication" to reduce disposal and security risk.
[Can it be used as termination device directly connected with ONU? ]
Meraki Go router firewall is also compatible with internet environments that require IPv4 DHCP and PPPoE connections. However, it cannot be used as termination devices in environments with additional services such as IP phones and IPv6. You need to enter the provider agreement (PPPoE connection, user name/password for PPPoE) settings on the local page of the device and connect to ONU, etc. Meraki Go management app cannot be set now.
