Each mode operates independently.On the bottom of the battery case there is a button to control the red night vision and hazard strobe.

The red light on the back and the flood light attached to the side will flash, but the focal spotlight remains high power.This is a great safety feature that allows you to see the user from any angle while still allowing you to fully illuminate your work content.It is a must have for safety on the road.
